Nawaz on peace with India

Arif Nizami in his recent article has wrote about Nawaz Sharif’s views on peace with India. He might have had the potential in him to replace the present rulers but the problem with Nawaz Sharif is that he has not learnt any lesson from his past and continues to add to his serious blunders that could be exploited by opposition at an appropriate time. His politics is still based on anti-Gen Musharraf slogans and on the Vajpai visit to Lahore.

For the last two years, vested interests had launched propaganda against the two nation theory that includes certain anchors and columnists who are totally unaware about the creation of Pakistan.

It was so strange that the leader of Muslim League went out of the way to please our enemies and that too on Independence Day. Let us see what our Quaid said on 8th March while making a speech in Aligarh. The Quaid e-Azam remarked was not the product of conduct or misconduct of Hindus. It had always been there, only they were not conscious of it.

Similarly on 25 October, 1947, talking to a Reuter’s correspondent, he said “As for the two nation theory, it is not a theory but a fact. The division of India is based on that fact and what is more, that fact has been proved beyond doubt by the ugly and deplorable events of the past two months, and by the action of the Dominion of India in pulling out Hindus from Pakistan as their nationals.”

Mian Nawaz Sharif should understand that time is running fast and if he continues with his present approach he will be isolated and will have no place in country’s politics. Let us not build another Raiwind by advocating trade and other activities with India before the resolution of outstanding disputes.
