Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan said on Saturday that 378 suspected criminals have been arrested during search operations in various parts of the city.
“The law enforcement agencies including police and Rangers recovered 140 weapons including assault rifles and light machine guns,” he said, while talking to journalists after visiting the residence of late Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Waja Karimdad, who was killed in a firing incident recently.
He said the operation will continue until peace is restored in the city. “Our strategy will continue to change as per requirements.”
Referring to the ban on pillion riding, Wasan said that children, women, elders and journalists are exempted from the restriction, which was imposed due to incidents of terrorism.
The PPP leaders including Karachi division president Najmi Alam and high-ups of police were also present on the occasion.
