Recently I went to a senior advocate’s office in front of the City Court. There, I saw a fan which was looking very old but was working properly. The senior lawyer told me that the fan was made in 1943-44 in Amritsar (India) and was fixed at his office in 1948.
He further told me that the fans which are functioning in Sindh High Court were installed in 1936 and they were made in England. After some time, these fans need maintenance and a change of oil but they have been workingly soundly since their installation.
I am amazed that after so many years these fans are working properly. The fans which are made in Pakistan nowadays have a very short life. After only a few years, these fans are of no use. It would have been better if fan manufactures in Pakistan made fans of the same quality as of those old fans which were made in Amritsar (India) and England and are still working.
