An Alaska jury has convicted a mother of child abuse for punishing an adopted son by squirting hot sauce into his mouth and forcing him into a cold shower, USA TODAY reported on Wednesday. Evidence against Jessica Beagley, 36, of Anchorage, included video of the punishment sent to the Dr Phil show, which features licensed therapist Phil McGraw giving advice. Beagley and her husband Gary, an Anchorage police officer, have six children, including twin 7-year-old boys adopted from Russia in 2008.
