Recently, Chakra Village in Korangi, Karachi was attacked by a large number of armed activists belonging to a political-cum-terrorist outfit resulting in killing of at least two innocent residents besides injuring many.
The Elite Force travelling in a private bus meant to keep peace in the village was attacked by at least 10 armed motorcyclists on the way, killing at least four policemen and injuring more than two dozens. However, their dead bodies were later sent to various towns of Sindh.
Investigations should be made as to who leaked the information of their movement in advance despite having in private dresses and also travelling in private bus. Why did the concerned officer take the bus through route where 400/500 people were already waiting on the roadside instead of taking the bus through safe alternate road? Further, at the time of attack, whether the prevailing loadshedding was deliberate or a matter of routine.
The time has come that the government should protect law-abiding peaceful citizens from the members of political-cum-terrorist outfits who have taken Karachi on gunpoint for the last many years. It is a big tragedy that except the present government, everyone knows who the real killers of innocent people are in Karachi.
