The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will announce its future course of action today (Sunday), party Rabita Committee member Raza Haroon told a press conference on Saturday. A meeting of MQM’s Coordination Committee continued simultaneously in London and Karachi late into the night, with the party maintaining that the state had failed to restore peace to the city and the government could not arrest even a single criminal involved in killing innocent people across the city. Haroon and senior MQM leader Babar Ghouri told reporters on Saturday said that the government wanted to portray criminals and extortionists as political leaders. “Peace in the city cannot be restored until criminals of various gangs are not arrested,” they said.
