There is a tendency during Ramzan that some cooking oil companies are advertising their food products using prayers and even Azan to attract attention to their products.
Especially during the last hour of fast before Maghrib prayers, a short call to prayers is broadcast on a TV channel which confuses the listeners as if the time to break the fast has arrived.
In any case, the use of Azan and prayers to advertise a certain brand of cooking oil ought to be stopped and the government must take action against those companies and channels which misuse the Azan at odd times just to advertise their products. Azan ought to be confined on TV channels to inform about the actual time of prayer or when fast is to be broken. Otherwise, reckless use of Azan would be sacrilegious that is to be prohibited.
