An accountability court on Monday extended the physical remand of Nazeer Ahmed Sindhu, Naveed Ahmed Sindhu and Nadeem Ahmed Sindhu, involved in fake allotment of 14 plots in Model Town Extension, until August 25.
Nazeer was a property dealer/contractor while Nadeem and Naveed were his sons. They were required by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab to join the investigation initiated against former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) town planning director Masood Ahmed Qazi. Nazeer got exemption of 14 five marla plots situated in Model Town Extension on fake documents from Masood Ahmed Qazi and the plots were allotted to Nadeem and Naveed afterwards. The accused with active aid of each other misappropriated valuable 14 plots owned by LDA and caused a loss of hundreds of thousands of rupees to the national exchequer. The court, extending the remand, directed the investigation officer to complete the investigation by the next date of hearing. Separately, an accountability court extended the physical remand of United Forex director Asad Kamran until August 26. The accused was involved in a mega fraud with the public and arrested from the Allama Iqbal International Airport while trying to flee on a fake passport and other documents. Earlier, NAB authorities presented the accused in court seeking extension in his physical remand to investigate him and locate the record of his firm along with details of bank accounts and whereabouts of his clients.
