Another day, another rain

The city witnessed yet another rainy day with six millimetres of rain, as the monsoon spell continued in different parts of the country. According to the Met Office, isolated rain and thundershowers were expected in Punjab, Lower Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) today (Tuesday) while heavy falls are expected at a few places in Upper Punjab.
Scattered rain with thundershowers hit Karachi, Hyderabad, Bahawalpur, Bannu, Malakand, Makran, Eastern Balochistan and AJK on Monday. According to the Met Office, the present monsoon spell would continue for another two days. Around 32 millimetres of rain was recorded in Mithi, 23 in Muzaffarabad, 15 in Bahawalnagar, 12 in Rawalakot, 12 in Khuzdar and Lasbella, 8 in Murree, 7 in Balakot, 6 in Bahawalpur and Kakul 5 millimetres in Sibbi. Maximum temperature was recorded in Nokkundi where mercury reached 44 degrees Celsius. Around 96 percent humidity was recorded in Lahore on Monday morning, which dropped to 78 percent in the evening. The maximum temperature recorded in Lahore was 31 degrees Celsius and minimum 25 degrees Celsius.
