Young police officers should prepare themselves to meet the security challenges of the present era by performing their duties with professional honesty and dignity, said Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Javed Iqbal told 13 trainee assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) at the districts attachment ceremony held at the Punjab Police Headquarters on Monday.
The IG was hopeful that the new ASPs would focus on combating terrorism and curbing crimes by establishing friendly relations between the police and public. He said the government was paying special attention to organising the police force on modern lines by equipping the officials with latest technology and training. He advised the ASPs not to misuse powers and ensure easy access to public at every level. He also emphasised quick redressal of public grievances.
In the end, the IG announced attachment of the new ASPs to various districts. Shabbir Ahmed Sethar was attached to Rahimyar Khan, Riffat Haider Bokhari to Lahore, Tariq Illahi Mastoi to Faisalabad, Mohammad Iqbal to Sargodha, Haroon Rashid Khan to Lahore, Adil Memon to Gujranwala, Muhammad Rizwan Ahmed Khan to Okara, Muhammad Jawad Tariq to Toba Tek Singh, Asif Ahmed Bughio to Multan, Muhammad Arif Aslam to Kasur, Malik Jameel Zaffar to Gujrat, Bilal Iftikhar to Ralwalpindi and Irfan Tariq to Jhelum.
