Fourth monsoon spell will continue for the next few days as a trough of westerly wave over northern parts of the country has intensified because of the interaction of moist currents from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, the Met office said on Monday. Scattered rains and thundershower with isolated heavy falls are expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Northeast Balochistan and Kashmir today (Tuesday).
The Met office predicted rain with thundershower in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Hazara, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas and Kashmir and said the weather would remain hot and humid elsewhere in the country. 78 percent humidity was recorded in the provincial metropolis on Monday morning and 66 percent in the evening. The maximum temperature also remained on the lower side in the city, as the mercury just touched 33 degrees Celsius.
