The provincial government intends to form an institution called the Sindh Education Academy that would include educational experts and retired teachers so that every child in the province receives education, Senior Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq said on Tuesday.
According to an official handout, he was speaking at farewell get-together held in honour of EDO Education Karachi Muhammad Ibrahim Kumbhar by the officers and officials of the Directorate of Schools Education Karachi and the Sindh Education Department.
Haq said that to maintain the quality education standard in the province, a comprehensive network of community colleges starting from nursery to intermediate at every district headquarter would also be set up. Haq praised the educational services, responsibilities and professional obligations discharged by the Ibrahim Kumbhar with commitment, enthusiasm and integrity.
He said that officers can earn respect and dignity through their diligent, skilled capabilities and abilities. The minister said that the present government is striving hard for quality education in the province similar to the steps taken by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan to establish the Aligarh University.
The secretaries of the government, Muhammad Siddiq Memon,
Aijaz Ali Khan, Waseem Ursani, Anwar Ahmed Zai and Ibrahim Kumbhar also spoke on the occasion.
The speakers congratulated Kumbhar for completing his 40-year long career with satisfaction and distinction and urged his colleagues to follow the his footsteps.
Haq and the secretaries presented a shield to him on his retirement. A large number of the directorate officers and staff including Anzar Hussain Zaidi, Sajjan Mallah, Dr Mehboob Shaikh, M.Siddiq Shaikh of the FPCCI and Khalid Shah of the Private Schools Association attended the event.
We feel pride to have the officers like Mr. Ibrahim kumbhar. May God always bless him good health.
