A new era of urban transport shall be ushered with the Lahore Mass Transit Project (LMTP), Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said
on Saturday.
The CM said similar projects should be launched in other big cities of the province. He thanked the Chinese government for extending cooperation for the project and declared the Lahore Mass Transit project ‘a gift by the Chinese government for the people of Punjab’.
The CM said this talking to Chinese International Company NORINCO Zhang Shiping Vice President and his delegation during a meeting in Murree. Senator Ishaq Dar, Member National Assembly Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan, Secretary Planning & Development and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
Chinese International Company NORINCO Zhang Shiping Vice President said the Pak-China friendship was above business priorities. He said the company will not take a single penny as profit in the project of laying rail track for the citizens of Lahore. He said that Lahore Mass Transit Project is one of the big achievements of the Chief Minister’s recent visit to China.
