Jamiat Ulema Islam chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman has said that the rulers have badly failed to stop drone strikes and its major reason is the continuity of the policies of former president Pervez Musharraf.
He said this in a telephonic conversation with party leaders including Maulana Qari Fiaz ur Rehman Alvi, Maulana Muhammad Yousaf, Maulana Muhammad Amjad Khan, Mufti Ibrar Ahmad and Abdul Razzaq Lakho.
He condemned the yesterday’s drone attacks and declared it strike on the sovereignty and security of the country.
He added that government was claiming for the supremacy of the Parliament which was only theory and nothing had been done so far in practice.
Maulana Fazal ur Rahman himself is a legacy of Musharraf, who enjoyed power during his rule and has eversince than become addicted to the benefits that flow from being in power. He enjoys very close contacts with AZ and is playing the role of a spoiler, or the role of Bahadur Khan, the brother of Ayub Khan, whom the Field Marshall had chosen to be his Opposition Leader in the BD system NA.
