At least five people were killed when militants fired on two vehicles in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, while driver of a NATO oil tanker was shot dead in the southwest, officials said. Regional police chief Mohammad Masood Khan Afridi confirmed the shooting and deaths.
No one claimed responsibility for the attack, in a region rife with a homegrown insurgency. Separately, unidentified armed men gunned down driver of a Afghanistan-bound oil tanker in Mastung district some 40 kilometres away from Quetta. Shah was seriously injured in the attack and died before he could be taken to the hospital.
