Five killed across Lahore

At least five people were killed across Lahore in various crime incidents on Thursday. A 30-year-old man was killed by a stray bullet while he was sleeping on the roof of his house in Shahdra police precincts on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Nazir Ahmad, son of Sharif of Kala Khtai Road Shahdra. Police said that Nazir was sleeping on roof of his house when a stray bullet hit him around 4am. He was rushed to nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Man shot dead: A man was shot dead under mysterious circumstances in Sattukatla police precincts late on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Muhammad Khalid, a resident of Pattoki. Police said that the deceased was worked at a chicken shop located in PIA Colony.
Dacoits kill youth: A 20-year-old man was shot dead by four dacoits in Kot Lakhpat police precincts on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Zahoor Ahmad, son of Meer Afsar of Azad Kashmir. Police said the victim was a security guard at a local factory owned by one Javed Iqbal.
Early Thursday morning, Ahmad saw four men entering the premises of the factory and as he approached them, they fired shots at him and fled the scene.
Daredevils killed: Two boys were killed while performing motorcycle stunts near Abdullah Gul Interchange on Ring Road in the wee hours of Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Ahasn, 22, of Mughalpura and Zohaib, 23, of Akhri Minute Stop in Shalimar Area. Rescue sources said that both deceased were close friends and were students.
They said that around 1:15 am late on Thursday they two along with a group of motorbike riders were performing wheelie stunts when they two lost control of their bikes and as a result their bikes collided with a footpath.
Rescue 1122 and Edhi officials reached the spot shifted them to a nearby hospital where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
North Cantt police then moved the bodies to city morgue and later handed them over to heirs.
Also, two incidents of fires due to short circuiting reduced valuables worth thousands of rupees to ashes on Thursday. Rescue 1122 and Edhi sources said that a fire broke out in the house of Zafar Iqbal in Gulshan Ravi due short circuit that completely gutted the house.
Meanwhile, another incident of fire took place at Chohan Road when short circuiting set a house on fire.
The house’s owner was identified as Umar. The fire gutted valuables worth thousands of rupees.
The Rescue 1122 workers responded to emergencies and controlled the fire from spreading in both incidents.
