The issue of Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad stepping down has become a mystery, as the spokesman for the Presidency has denied receiving his resignation, a private TV channel reported on Friday. Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Khuhro, on the other hand, refused to receive the resignations of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) provincial ministers, saying that he was the acting governor while Ebad was “on leave”.
He said that Ebad himself would receive and approve the resignations. Meanwhile, MQM Coordination Committee Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar told the private TV channel that Ebad had delivered his resignation to the president. He questioned why there were reports of the resignation having been approved if it was not received. According to sources, the governor is currently in Dubai.
