A lady teacher who served the education department for 14 years on a fake appointment letter was dismissed by the district education officer Chiniot on the orders of the Lahore High Court. Accused Akhtar Naz daughter of Ghulam Murtaza allegedly had been appointed at Chak No 68 GB, Jarranwala, on the basis of a fake appointment letter.
She presented another fake order regarding her transfer to Loonaywala village. On the complaint of a citizen, Azam, LHC Judge Justice Azmat Saeed directed the DEO Chiniot to hold an inquiry and report to the court. During the inquiry, the appointment and transfer orders of Akhtar Naz were proven fake on which she was dismissed from service. A criminal case of fraud and return of the embezzled money received in terms of salaries is under way. She received Rs 10,000 monthly salary for 14 years.
GAMBLER KILLS WIFE: A woman who urged her husband to quit gamboling was axed to death by her husband. Nazia from Chak No 358 GB near Satyana had solemnized love marriage to Nadeem. But she was soon disappointed to note that her husband was a notorious gambler.
This led to a series of domestic quarrels between them as Nazia was always asked him to quit the immoral trade and adopt a dignified way of living. On the day of the incident, the couple had a heated discussion again following which husband picked up an axe and attacked his wife, killing him instantly.
KILN OWNERS TO GON ON STRIKE: The brick manufacturers association of Faisalabad has announced to observe a three-day strike from tomorrow (Wednesday) to protest against the imposition of general sales tax on bricks. The announcement was made by President Shoaib Khan Niazi in the presence of more than 30 kiln owners operating in the city. A spokesman for the association told the press that millions of kiln workers and their families would be pushed out of work as a result of this cruel tax.
