For the last few months, mobile users are being scammed by lots of false text messages in which people receive an SMS from an unknown number. In that message, the sender gives some false information about some kind of event. Innocent people often accept this information as true.
After the balance-sharing scam, PTA and cellular companies took solid actions to counter those types of frauds. But now these SMS campaigns have been started again by unknown tricksters. Last week, a message was circulated about job fair in which an unknown sender gave information through SMS about a job exhibition in the expo centre. Hundreds of young boys and girls reached the specific location which was mentioned in but they found nothing.
PTA must take serious action against these fraudulent people. There should be a cell set up where people can report such cases after which PTA can take requisite action to apprehend them..
