The Lahore High Court on Tuesday reserved judgment on six identical petitions challenging the process of appointment of six public sector universities vice chancellors (VCs) and composition of a search committee for finding suitable people for the slots. Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh heard arguments by the petitioning counsels and Additional Advocate General Muhammad Hanif Khatana before reserving the judgment on the matter.
Khatana, on behalf of the provincial government, told the court that the appointments of all six VCs were being made according to the law. He said the search committee had short listed 89 candidates out of a total of 235 candidates who applied for the posts of VCs.
