The second phase of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Parts I and II private and regular examination under the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) would start from June 21.
This was announced by BIEK Chairman Anwar Ahmed Zai in a press conference on Monday.
He said that in the second phase, the private candidates of the commerce faculty and regular candidates of the humanities groups of Parts I and II would appear in the annual test, starting from June 21.
A total of 63,176 students would appear in the second phase of the annual examination and 77 examination centres have been fixed, including 29 in the morning shift for commerce (private) and 48 centres in the evening.
He said that 8,943 male and 14,648 female candidates were registered to appear in commerce, humanities and special candidates Part I examination, whereas 18,813 male and 20,772 female students were registered for commerce, humanities, special candidates and diploma in physical education Part II annual examination.
The chairman said that commerce private Parts I and II annual examination would be held in the morning shift and 22,669 students would appear in the exam.
He said that 6,087 male and 2,611 female students would appear in the Part I commerce (private), whereas 10,210 male and 3,761 female candidates would appear in Part II commerce (private) annual exams.
He also said that 19,777 students would appear in Parts I and II humanities (regular) annual examination.
The students include 1,174 male and 8,517 female in Part I and 1,143 male and 8,943 female in Part II.
The chairman said that 1,624 male and 3,483 female students in Part I, whereas 7,405 male and 8,026 female candidates in Part II would appear in private humanities annual examination.
Besides, 58 male and 37 female students would appear as special candidates in Part I, whereas 35 male and 37 female candidates would appear in part II exam.
Moreover, 20 male and five female students would appear in physical education diploma annual examination Part II.
He said that the board has established 77 examination centres, 29 for morning shift and 48 for evening shift.
He also said that 20 male colleges, seven female colleges, a higher secondary school for male and a higher secondary school for female are among the 29 examination centres of the morning shift examination.
On the other hand, 18 male colleges, 27 female colleges, a male higher secondary school and two female high secondary schools are among the 48 exam centres for the evening shift examination, he added.
He further said that June 15 and 16 are announced as special dates to receive the exam forms for those candidates who could not submit their examination forms due to any reason and they can collect their admit cards from BIEK on June 17 and 18, respectively.
Although BIEK has despatched all admit cards to the residential addresses of those candidates, who have submitted their examination forms as private candidates, but if any candidate has yet to receive their admit card, they could collect them on June 17 and 18.
The chairman said that the admit cards of regular candidates have also been despatched to their respective colleges.
BIEK FINANCIAL BUDGET APPROVED: The Board of Governors (BoG) of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) approved the financial budget for BIEK on Monday.
According to the BoG, the board’s employees have received a raise of 15 percent in their salaries.
After receiving approval, all centre coordinator officers, practical examiners and paper setters would get Rs 15 per kilometre, instead of Rs 10 per kilometre, as travelling allowance.
According to BIEK Chairman Anwer Ahmed Zai, the BoG has decided that there would be no increment in fee schedule, including examination fee.
The board would be asked to curtail extra expenditures at the grassroots level, Ahmed added.
