PTI protests against NWA operation, drone attacks

Score of activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday staged a demonstration against possible military operation in North Waziristan and continuation of US drone strikes in the tribal belt. More than 100 activists took part in the demonstration arranged by PTI’s women wing, outside the Parliament House. The protesters were carrying placards inscribed with slogans denouncing government for failure to stop US attacks and ‘anti-poor’ budget and possible military offensive in North Waziristan Agency.
Speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Prof Sadaqat Abbasi said that proposed operation in NW would be counter-productive and it would wreak havoc in the country. The president of the PTI’s women wing Fouzia Kasuri, Zareen Bibi, also spoke on the occasion. Meanwhile, in a press statement issued here on Monday, PTI leader Imran Khan strongly condemned US drone attacks, for which, he criticised government’s inability on the diplomatic front.
