This is with reference to Mr M Khan Sial’s letter titled “Bigger bowl, please?” If things continue on the same course that they are right now, then of course we will need a bigger begging bowl. Look at the Economic Survey: growth down, investment down, inflation up, foreign debt up, domestic debt up, poverty up, unemployment up. We need to take long-term steps like building dams and infrastructure. Kalabagh dam alone will increase irrigation supplies both for Sindh and Punjab by 2.2 million acre feet. It will also generate 3600 megawatts of power for all.
