It has been frequently observed and reported that the police are called in by the feuding parties to settle an issue. It is here that the police most of the times sides with one party and pressurises the other for a settlement. The settlement of the case is done without the consent of the victim most of the times. It should be realised by the community that the police are not allowed or authorised to settle cases. The settlement of the case can only be done in court and no one should be pressurised for a resolution.
