Judges need to be responsible in using judicial powers assigned to them and the posts of additional district and session judge was integral in the hierarchy of district judiciary, Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Ghulam Rabbani said while addressing the certificate-awarding ceremony on the conclusion of a one-week training course on, “Civil and Criminal Laws with special reference to appeal, revision, review and sessions trial.”
The course was held for the newly recruited/ promoted additional district and sessions judges from all over Pakistan including Azad Jammu and Kashmir at the Federal Judicial Academy. He opined: “those who would misuse their judicial powers hang innocent people to death and they would be taken to task on the Day of Judgment in the Court of the real Judge, the Lord of this Universe.” Elucidating the advantages of life of uprightness, integrity and morality he urged the judges not be rude and rough but decent, down to earth, respectful towards the litigant public and lawyers.
“The more you respect the litigant public and legal fraternity, the more you, yourselves will respected by them because respect begets respect,” he said, adding that the more they would read the law books and judgments, the more professional they will become. He further advised the trainee judges to be honest with their own self, profession, duty and with the cause of justice. At the outset, Ms Nusrat Yasmeen, Additional district and sessions Judge, Charsadda, spoke on behalf of the trainee judges and lauded the content of the course and intellectual efforts of the resource persons of repute from judiciary and other domains.
