The Lahore Bar Association (LBA) in general house condolence meeting in Aiwan-e-Adl bar room on Tuesday held that the LBA would cancel the bar membership of whoever pleaded the case of lawyer Anjum Akbar’s murderer. LBA President Shahzad Hassan Sheikh, Secretary Syed Farhad Shah, vice-presidents Azfar Kamal and Arif Mahmood also demanded immediate arrest of the murderers.
37-year-old Anjum was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists on Saturday near Ludhar Interchange (Jammu bus-stop). Asma condemns: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Asma Jahangir condemned Anjum Akbar’s murder on Tuesday. The SCBA president demanded the case be investigated independently and added that those responsible must be punished according to the law.
She also announced the lawyers would take up the case diligently to ensure that justice was delivered.
