This is with regard to the recent news reports that the major Japanese car manufacturer has delivered its output for the month of April without any major delays. I had already placed an order before the March 11 disaster and was appalled by all the reports on the uncertain situation in Japan and how it is affecting auto industries around the world. I was expecting an indefinite delay after reading about the expected supply chain crunch and I am therefore quite relieved that they have been able to deliver my new car despite the shortage of parts and cut down in production activities.
I hope that Pakistani car makers will be able to minimise the impact of the Japanese disaster on customers and the economy in the future as well, while ensuring that people (already being affected by a spiralling inflation rate) do not have to pay premium for timely deliveries.
