The Lahore High Court (LHC) Administration Committee promoted 33 judicial officers as district and sessions judges and additional district and sessions judges on Saturday.
The committee, presided over by the LHC Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry, also granted confirmation to 96 civil judge-cum-judicial officers.
The following 11 additional district and sessions judges have been promoted as district and sessions judges: Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, Safdar Saleem Shahid, Muhammad Saleem Khan, Muhammad Azam, Muhammad Tanveer Meer, Bahadar Ali Khan, Pervez Ali Shah, Manzoor Hussain, Syed Imam Ali Shah, Muhammad Abdul Nasir and Mehar Muhammad Youaf.
The following 22 senior civil judges have been promoted as additional district and sessions judges: Misbah Khan, Shahid Sikandar, Rana Zahid Iqbal, Muhammad Ashiq, Ghulam Abbas, Muhammad Afzal Khan, Arif Mehmood Khan, Muhammad Arif Khan Niazi, Muhammad Amir Habib, Muhammad Zahid Ghaznavi, Muhammad Tahir Khan Niazi, Muhammad Nadeem Shaukat, Naeem Ahmad, Amir Saleem Rana, Rai Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Arif Hameed Sheikh, Muhammad Aslam Gondal, Ijazur Rehman, Sohail Shafiq, Muhammad Ramzan, Naeem Sheikh and Qamarul Zaman.

The committee terminated the services of Qurban Ali as civil judge-cum judicial magistrate after he failed to clear the departmental examination despite four attempts. The committee ordered for compulsory retirement of Add D&SJ Burewala Muhammad Shafiq Butt on the charges of corruption.
Jahangir Vains, civil judge, Dera Ghazi Khan has also been given compulsory retirement on the charge of abuse of authority while a show-cause notice has been issued to D&SJ and Chairman Drug Court Multan Shahid Raqiq for enhancement of punishment to dismissal of service on corruption charges.
Fresh regular inquiry has been initiated against Civil Judge Layyah Jawwad Alam Qureshi and Add D&SJ Pasrur Mian Khadim Hussain. Initiation of an inquiry has been ordered against D&SJ Lodhran Mahar Muhammad Nawaz and Senior Civil Judge Lodhran Muhammad Abdul Razzaq.
