A dacoit gang snatched valuables worth Rs 4.5 million from a PAF squadron leader and his wife. Hammad Akram and his wife were going to Shorkot PAF Base from Sargodha. When they reached near Dabbanwala, four dacoits in a car intercepted them at gunpoint and snatched from them cash, gold ornaments and other valuables.
CHILD RIGHTS COMMITTEE HOLDS SEMINAR: Child Rights Committee organized a seminar at the local press club in connection with global education week. Education EDO Malik Munawar Panwaar, Community Development EDO Rana Mumtaz Ahmad, District Bar Association President Mian Farrukh Iqbal, District PML-N President Ch Amjad Javed, Tariq Mahmood, Mian Manzoor Naz, Ashfaq Fateh, advocates Rab Nawaz Dadoana and Najmus Saqib, Tahir Zeeshan, Shahid Sindhu and Sajid Ali addressed the seminar. They urged the audience to convince parents to get their children admitted in schools instead of forcing them to work as domestic or industrial workers.
MAY DAY PROGRAMME: May Day will be observed here by National Trade Union Federation, Labour Education Foundation and Pakistan Bhatta Mazdoor Union. A cultural programme will also be held at which Pervez Mehdi,Tariq Redy, Khalid Rahi and Razzaq Niazi will perform.
