The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday regularised services of 123 secondary school teachers working on a contract basis in BPS-16 in four schools being run by the LDA. The decision was taken in a meeting of the LDA Governing Body chaired by Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) and LDA Chairman Ahad Cheema. The authority adopted a Punjab Education Department’s notification regarding regularisation of the teachers by the LDA’s Education Wing.
LDA has already regularised services of contract staff working in BPS-1 to 15 in pursuance of orders from the Punjab government. The meeting also approved temporary construction of the Sabzazar Model Bazaar on public utility plots measuring 15 kanals adjacent to the Sabzazar Police Station. The authority allowed payment of the price assessed by the negotiation committee directly to owners of the Fruit and Vegetable Market Kot Lakhpat who have agreed to the price of their shops assessed by the committee.
