LAHORE – All Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) domestic and international flights will operate according to schedule and there will not be any disruption, said a PIA spokesman on Sunday. He said that all rumours regarding any strike call are baseless and no agreement or MOU has been signed with the Turkish Airlines as being falsely projected by the PALPA president.
The spokesman said that the Proposed Code Share Joint Venture Commercial Agreement is subject to approval of the federal government and other regulatory authorities. He said that routes are not owned by any airline and could not be sold or bought. They are rights of the federal government and only utilised by the designated carrier, the spokesman clarified.
The PIA and TK have proposed a code share arrangement, which are being finalised by most airlines to increase their profitability and enhance routes without incurring additional costs. He said that all employees are dedicated workers and loyal to the airline but a few elements want to disrupt the normal working of the airline and create problems for passengers and the general public while it will also affect image of the airline abroad.
The national flag carrier will keep operating its flights according to schedule, the spokesman concluded.
