Two children killed in landmine blast

Two children and a police constable were killed in two separate incidents in Jaffarabad and Lasbela districts on Sunday. According to reports, two children were killed when a landmine exploded in Goth Piro Humzani within the precincts of Malagzar police station, Jaffarabad District. The children were walking in the field when one of them stepped on the mine that blew up, causing immediate death. The police rushed to the site and moved the bodies to hospital.
The names of the dead could not be ascertained immediately. In a second incident, police found bullet-riddled body of a police constable, Naseer Ahmed, from a field in the industrial town of Hub. Police said Ahmed had gone missing for three days. The police handed over the body to the heirs after completing legal formalities and started investigations into the case. However, reason behind the killing was yet to be known.
