Health care in Pakistan

Since inception, Pakistan has been confronted by a number of health problems many of which could have been eradicated had the authorities concerned in particularly and the public in general tried whole heartily. But neither the responsible officials nor people behaved like responsible being because of which health care problems kept on mounting.

Most of the general diseases are caused by marshes and filth heaps which are subsequently spread by insects like mosquitoes and flies.

The garbage piles must be removed and destroyed in time to avoid generation and spread of diseases. Clean drinking water is something most areas of our country are still deprived of. There is a great need of it as even today many of the remote areas of the country and even some areas of big cities do not have access to it.

In our rural areas because of low literacy rate, women are not aware of health care needs and unknowingly develop a number of diseases which are then transmitted to the new-born babies. The rural women should be taught to go for their regular medical check-ups.

Many people sell edibles on roadsides. This also causes deadly effects on health. It is the government which should provide them with shops where possible so that they could run their business and sell edibles in a neat and clean atmosphere.

This would at least check the spread of diseases which are mainly caused by unhygienic food items.

The government must open health centres in rural areas. At the same time health budget must be increased as it is only a healthy nation which can put the country on the road to success and progress.
