Target killing spree claims 8 more lives

KARACHI – The target killing spree which had begun on 13th April entered its fourth intermittent day, targeting 8 including three women and 14 injured.
Majority of those killed are said to be political activists killed or abducted by ‘unknown persons’, while a suicide by a policeman has also been reported, bringing the toll to 38 in four days.
After the ousting of vociferous Provincial Home Minister Zulfiqar Ali Mirza, the ‘coalition partners’ have heaved a sigh of relief, while all seems to be roses and jubilant for ruthless target killers.
On Sunday morning unknown persons knifed 30-year old Qadri, activist of Sunni Tehrik, and his 24-year old wife, Yasmeen, in Saeedabad.
Police arrested the maternal uncle of the deceased Qadri, but released him after a short investigation; while unknown persons created panic and closure of all shops in the area after this gruesome murder
In another gruesome target killing, ‘unknown persons’ entered the house of former SHO Sharifabad, Zulfiqar Qaim Khani, appointed in security zone, and killed him by firing.
Dead bodies of two women, a 40-year old woman and a 16-year old girl were discovered, who have yet to be identified; while an unidentified 40-year old possible labor was also killed with five bullets.
