LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid Punjab Additional General Secretary Mian Tahir Siddique said that apart from re-opening the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto case, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) should also move the Supreme Court to investigate the fall of Dhaka. Addressing a delegation of the party workers at the Muslim League House on Wednesday, Tahir said that if the PPP wanted to correct the history, the conspiracy and actions that resulted into of the fall of Dhaka should be probed first.
“If ZAB’s death sentence was a judicial murder,. then the fall of Dhaka was a political conspiracy which should be unveiled as well,” he added. Tahir predicted that PPP would use his star card, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, to win the next elections, and the presidential reference for revisiting the death sentence passed against ZAB was the beginning of the PPP’s election campaign. He welcomed the political activities of the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in Punjab, saying that MQM and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) might not show any significant victory in Punjab in the coming elections but they would certainly hit the vote bank of PML-N.
He said that PML-Q would not require any massive election campaign in the next election as both PPP and PML-N had failed to provide relief to the masses. Talking about the Moonis Elahi’s case, he said the FIA Director Zafar Qureshi despite using all negative tactics could not provide any evidence of Moonis’ involvement in the NICL case.
