LAHORE – A Camp Jail Lahore warder was dismissed from service on Monday by the jail superintendent for supplying liquor to prisoners. Camp Jail Superintendent Gulzar Butt said that he received information that Warder Humayun Maqsood supplied liquor to prisoners in guise of water. Butt said that he observed that Maqsood cleared a prisoner’s luggage carrying liquor in a cold drink bottle.
The jail superintendent said that he issued show cause notice to Maqsood to explain his position but he failed to do so on which he dismissed him from service. Butt said that he also issued warning letters to three other employees of the Camp Jail for showing negligence in their duties.
Man shot dead for condemning harassment of girl: Muhammad Usman, 25, a resident of National Town was shot dead by two men for stopping them from harassing a girl in National Town in Sanda police precincts on Monday.
The police said that the deceased was running a scrap business in Wassanpura. On the day of incident, Usman was standing in front of his shop when Bunty and Sheharyar started harassing a girl; Usman stopped them from doing so over which they got infuriated, gathered their friends, brought out guns and gunned Usman down with straight fires.
