Man gets 50 years in jail

SAHIWAL – Sahiwal additional sessions judge (ASJ) awarded a man 50-year imprisonment and Rs 2 lakh fine on the charges double murder. Reportedly, Sahiwal ASJ Jamil Ahmed awarded 50-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakhb to accused Tahir Abbas after his trial. According to the prosecution, Tahir Abbas, on April 10, 2010 in Chak No 49-GD, shot two women Kausar and Khatoon Rani dead over some domestic issue.
DECEASED’S FAMILY FACES DIFFICULTIES: Prime minister’s son Moosa Gillani’s involvement in a murder case has really made the life of deceased Allah Ditta’s family very miserable. The heirs of the deceased have requested to the High Court chief justice and Punjab chief minister to take appropriate notice of the case registered at Yousafwala Police Station.
Earlier, district and sessions judge took sou motto notice after the news of the involvement of PM’s son in the case. He also ordered the police for fair investigation of the case.
FRAUDSTER ARRESTED: Anti Corruption police have arrested a Patwari for fraud. Reportedly, Patwari Rabnawaz, a resident of Chak No 116-9L, took Rs 32,000 from Maqbool Ahmed for mutation, Rs 64,000 from Imran Ashraf, a resident of Chak No 143-9L, for mutation and Rs 11,000 from Asghar Ali for mutation but neither made mutation nor passed the challan.
The police that had registered separate cases against him earlier arrested him and started investigation.
TWO CAUGHT red-handed CHEATING: At least two people were caught while appearing in place of other candidates in 9th class paper in separate incidents. In the first incident, the examiner caught Rabnawaz red handed while appearing in place of Abdul Ghafoor at the examination centre in Batala School Sahiwal.
In the second incident, Muhammad Yaseen, a resident of Chak No 73-5L, was appearing in place of another student. Both the students were handed over to the police that registered separate cases against them and started investigation.
