Change in police

Throughout the history of Pakistan, the police never enjoyed widespread support of the masses which was mainly due to the feudalistic mindset that was prevalent among the police officials.

The Police Act that was followed was enacted by the British government to develop a firm control over the masses. However, after their departure, we kept following the same rules and the police remained hand in hand with the feudal lords left behind by the British.

None of the governments in the past even tried to develop a different act for the police. Police reforms are necessary and will help in changing the outlook of the police across Pakistan. Unless or until the feudalistic frame of mind is changed, not just the police but society as a whole will not improve.
