The recent attacks on Maulana Fazlur Rehman have resulted in the death of innocent people besides injuring many others.
These attacks were a sad reminder that our nation is still very much under attack. I personally believe that attacks of this kind are only aimed at creating unrest in the society and have no other motive. The extremist forces are certainly trying to destabilize Pakistan, so that they can takeover and rule the people.
All those who support the Jihadist elements must know that it is not about the superiority of Islam but for power that these militants are fighting against the state. We have already seen this in Swat, where the locals supported Taliban, but when they took over, the locals were simply abandoned. We still have time to change our priorities and work for the larger benefit of the country.
