The role of police in maintenance of law and order in the society is vital and ensures a peaceful society. Police is perhaps the only civil law enforcement agency that is closely knitted in the society. However, there are questions about police performing this role effectively. There is always room for improvement. Police reforms have always been neglected in Pakistan. It is high time that the present government takes necessary steps in this regard and improves the overall structure of the police force. This will improve the law and order situation of the country and the problem of police being biased and politically motivated would also be solved.
