HAFIZABAD – The Punjab government is spending Rs 150 million for providing health care to the people of district Hafizabad. Hafizabad District Coordination Officer (DCO) Muhammad Asif said this while addressing an inaugural ceremony of a newly installed dialyses machine at the kidney centre denoted by philanthropist Qaiser Hanif Chaudhry, a resident of Jalapur Bhattian.
He said sufficient medicines were being supplied to all the hospitals of the district at a cost of Rs 60 million. He added that rural and basic health units in the district were being upgraded by spending millions of rupees.
He further said 370 patients were being provided with dialyses facilities free of cost every month with the cooperation of philanthropists. Noor Foundation Pakistan (NFP) Chairman Muhammad Shafique Naqshbandi said that 19 dialyses centres were working in different districts of Pakistan under the supervision of the (NFP) and added that two centres were being established in two districts, Zoob and Turbat of Balochistan, for giving kidney dialysis facilities to the people at local level.
ONE KILLED, ANOTHER INJURED IN ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist was killed and another injured in a road accident near Hafizabad. As per details, Muhammad Akhtar, a resident of Shaikhupura, was going towards Alipur Chattha along with his friend Hayat. When they reached near Head Sagar near Hafizabad, their motorcycle hit a rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. As a result, Muhammad Akhtar was killed instantly while Hayat sustained serioud injuries.
1.8M PEOPLE DIE OF TB EVERY YEAR: At least 1.8 million people die of tuberculosis (TB) every year in the world despite the fact it is a curable disease.
Hafizabad Anti-TB Association President Dr Muhammad Yaseen Ansari said this while addressing a seminar held to mark International Anti-TB Day. He asked TB patients to complete their treatment to get rid of this disease. He also underlined the need for all-out efforts against the disease to eradicate it from the world.

‘MASSES TO GET BASIC NEEDS AT DOORSTEPS’: Pakistan People’s Party Hafizabad President and Standing Committee for Labour and Human Resources Punjab Chairman Malik Fayyaz Ahmad Awan has said the government is committed to providing basic needs of life to the masses at their doorsteps.
While talking to Pakistan Today, he said that a passport office had been established in Hafizabad that had started functioning.
He added the government was also providing Rs 100 million for completing various development schemes in the district under People’s Works Programme.
