Balochistan PA condemns desecration of Holy Quran

QUETTA – Balochistan Assembly Wednesday adopted a unanimous resolution to condemn the desecration of the Holy Quran by church pastors Wayne Sapp and Terry Jones in the United States. Assembly members expressed their deep concern over the shameful act, adding that it hurt the sentiments of Muslims and called upon federal government to convene a conference of all Islamic countries to evolve a comprehensive strategy against repeated desecration of the Holy Quran and prophets.
Deputy Speaker Matiullah Agha was presiding the session. After recitation from the Holy Quran, Balochistan Senior Minister and leader of Jamait-e-Uleema-e-Islam-Fazl Abdul Wasay tabled a condemnation resolution and drew the house’s attention towards the incident on the part of American pastors that caused injuries of the sentiments of Muslim world wide. He said that it was not the first time that something like this had been done. He also condemned drone attacks and killing of innocent people in tribal areas of the country and warned that if rulers did not raise voice against these attacks, then there will be a severe reaction countrywide. He said that American agents were roaming freely in the country but government did not dare to take action against them and demanded that government should stop extending cooperation to US and its allies.
JUI-F leader said that anti Muslim lobbies were humiliating Muslim honour, thus the resolution should be approved unanimously and a strongly voice should be raised against the desecration so that no such act is repeated. Provincial Minister for Irrigation Sardar Aslam Bezinjo said that until and unless tight action was taken against anti- Islamic acts, anti Muslim lobbies would continue disgracing Muslims and their holy books. He said that there were more than 70 Muslim countries and they should decide a joint strategy that how to deal with such shameful acts against Muslims. He said that Pakistan should call a meeting of all Muslim countries and evolve a strategy and record their strong protest against desecration of Holy Quran.
Other members including Nasreen Kethran, Ainullah Shams, Gazala Gola, Jafar Jeorge, Jaffar Khan Mendokhel, Engineer Zamarak Khan, Basant Lal Gulshan, Rahila Durrani, Syed Ehsan Shah and Ismail Gujjar strongly condemned the burning the Holy Book.
