Our team made no secret of their desire to top their group to avoid playing India in India. On being criticised for this negative approach, they have gone overboard, “We will teach India a lesson playing in India”, and, “We will crush the West Indies”.
These are childish statements which only expose their own insecurity. Just saying, “We are looking forward to playing India in India”, would have put the required pressure on India. Also a similar polite statement about the West Indies would have done.
May be our players are not educated enough to think on these lines, but should not our top management be telling them to stop bragging and start speaking through their performance.
