Recently, it has been reported that militants have been targeting police infrastructure in Punjab. In the city of Gujranwala, there have already been three such incidents this year in which police stations and check posts have been bombed. This is an alarming situation as it is evident that after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the police are now in the crosshairs of the militants in Punjab. It is the need of the hour that the police should be provided with the proper resources to curb this rise in militancy before the situations spins out of control.
