Three murders

LAHORE – Sobia, 24, a divorcee, was shot dead by her brother over a minor issue in the precincts of Manga Mandi police on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Sobia, a resident of Mohala Tariqabad Manga Mandi.
Police said that Sobia gad veeb divorced for the last few months over a domestic issue and she was living at her parents’ home after separation from her husband. Police investigators said that Sobia and her brother Rana Sagheer quarreled over a domestic issue on the day of the incident and after exchanging harsh words Rana took out his gun and shot her from point blank range.
The accused managed to escape from the scene after the shooting his sister. Family members rushed the injured to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. Police removed the body to city mortuary and registered a murder case against her brother on the complaint of the deceased’s father Jahangir.
Over enmity: Bilal, 25, was gunned down over old enmity in the Misri Shah Police limits on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Bilal, a resident of Faiz Bagh, Misri Shah. Police said that victim Bilal and accused party Ahmad had an enmity for the last few years and had been filing court cases against each other.
On the day of incident, Bilal was on his way when Ahmad along with a friend arrived on a motorcycle and fired on him. He latter managed to escape. Bilal received serious bullet injuries from the friing. Locals rushed him to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police shifted the dead body to city mortuary for autopsy and registered a case of murder against accused persons on the complaint of the deceased’s brother Hafiz Lal Hussain. No arrests were made till the filing of this report.
Over money: Waheed ur Rehman, 50, was gunned down by two robbers and looted valuables worth Rs 450,000 in Garden Town police limits on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Waheed-Ur-Rehman, resident of Township. Police said that victim was heading back home along with his family after attending a wedding ceremony when two robbers approached them and looted the valuables on gunpoint.
Police said the victim tried to resist on which robbers opened fire and managed to escape from the scene. The injured was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. After being informed police reached the spot and shifted the dead body to morgue for autopsy. Police have registered a case against unknown persons on the complaint of deceased’s son Hadi.
No arrests were made until the filing of this report. Two persons were recovered dead under mysterious circumstances in separate localities of the provincial metropolis on Sunday.
Bodies: In Shahdara Town police limits, a 27-year-old man was recovered dead alongside a road. A passerby spotted the man unconscious and informed the police. Local police reached the spot and removed the body to morgue for autopsy. Police suspected that the deceased was a drug addict and died due to excessive use of drugs. However, main cause of death would be ascertained after autopsy.
Separately, a man was recovered dead from a drain close to Mohlanwa Main Bazaar in the Chung police limits. Police after being informed reached the spot, recovered the body and removed it to morgue for autopsy. Police have yet to ascertain the identity of the deceased man. Police have suspected the some unknown suspects had killed the man and threw the body into the drain. Investigations are underway.
