As expected, CIA contractor Raymond Davis has been released by the local court as the families of the victims in the Lahore shooting have pardoned Davis and agreed with the authorities to accept blood money (Diyya) over the deaths.
It is also reported that the affected family was forced to sign on agreement and some sources said that even the family was not aware of all these happenings.
What ever the reason was, it is sure that the family was pressurised a lot. From day one, the families were of the view that they didnt want money, they only want justice (and even for justice, wife of the victim Faheem committed suicide a few days ago).
I am sure that government will not investigate this, so I appeal to investigative reporters to investigate the cause of the release of Raymond Davis.
