Mr Ashfaque H Khan in his article titled An open letter to the finance minister has in fact charge-sheeted the finance minister and the government which is incorrect. In reality the whole world has been facing economic depression for the last four years and the economy of Pakistan is no exception. Moreover, there was natural calamity which devastated half of Pakistan this summer. Is it prudent to tax the already misfortune-ridden poor farmers? The government has completed the ground work for broadening the tax base without burdening the common man of Pakistan. Dont panic and see the federal government deliver according to the wishes of the people of Pakistan.
