Islamabad police in a campaign against proclaimed offenders (POs), court absconders and suspects arrested 317 persons involved in heinous crimes during the last two months.
During the last two months, City Zone police arrested 49 court absconders and 15 POs, Saddar Zone police arrested 40-court absconder and 27 POs, Industrial Area Zone police nabbed four court absconders and 13 POs and Rural Zone police arrested 130 court absconders and 29 POs. Meanwhile, 590 suspects including beggars were also held during search operations in different areas of the city to curb menace of begging. Police also arrested 41 gamblers by raiding at various gambling dens.
They have also busted carjacking gangs active in Islamabad and different areas of Punjab and arrested 34 suspects, recovering 41 stolen and snatched cars.
A central patrolling system was introduced to curb the crime and number of vehicles with Rescue-15 increased from 13 to 23. The patrolling vehicles would continue changing their positions after every hour to tackle the criminals and gangsters. Crime control has been top priority and that was why a strategy to curb car theft had been devised.
This is a personal milestone for the Islamabad police as they have been very active in catching suspects who were involved in illegal activities. We should encourage Islamabad police so that the law and order is maintained in the city. Lets hope it continues to create a safe environment for the citizens of Islamabad.
