PML(N)s chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has urged the people of Sindh to support him to eradicate poverty, corruption, terrorism, unemployment and other problems from the country (March 03, 2011). While welcoming Mr Sharifs statement for finally giving importance to the people of Sindh, I politely want ask a few questions which I hope he or his party would reply to. He has remained the Prime Minister twice for a total period of about six years. Can he tell us the name of any one mega development project which his party initiated and completed during his two tenures which benefited Sindh?

Benazir had announced the construction of Kati Bunder mega development project in Sindh but Mr Sharifs successor govt abandoned the project. The Sindhi press reported that the funds earmarked for the said project were transferred to Lahore-Islamabad Motorway project. Indus delta the sixth largest in the world is on the verge of death since long due to non-release of water downstream Kotri despite the Accord was signed 20 years back. It was envisaged in the Accord at least 10 maf water to be released for the delta and also to meet requirement of 2.7 million people living between Kotri and Arabian Sea but Punjab did not allow its implementing. Did Nawaz Sharif raise any voice to save Indus delta and meet water requirement of 2.7 million people living there? In view of the foregoing, what is the justification for the people of Sindh to trust PML(N)?
