LAHORE – Construction work of the Bhasha Dam has started and it will be completed within 10 years, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Dr Nadeemul Haq told journalists after the Pakistan Urban Forum’s (PUF) 2011 concluding ceremony at the Alhamra Arts Council on Saturday.
Haq said that public sector development programme funding has been slashed to Rs 100 billion from the sanctioned Rs 280 billion owing to slow economic activity and massive floods. Addressing the closing ceremony, Haq said only a eight percent rate of economic growth could provide the three million jobs a year that Pakistan’s 90 million youth (below 20 years) need.
Earlier, Urban Unit Project Director Dr Nasir Javed said that during the five-day event, experts and delegates belonging to ten countries presented papers with over 6,700 people registering online. He said that students of six universties, 35 foreign delegates and 150 local experts attended the sessions. World Bank representative Shahnaz Akhtar and Asian Development Bank representative Cathy Julian were amongst the speakers.
what the fuck the govt. was doing 10 years which are passed? fuck sick! they know everything well ahead. Suppose, think that how is it possible that you don't know how much rice and wheat is left in your own home?
